Chrissy Martinez is an award winning/published wildlife and underwater photographer based out of Gainesville, Florida just a short drive from the springs capital of the world. She was born at the beach in Caracas, Venezuela  where her love for the ocean and wildlife were in the cards from the very beginning.

Growing up in the US without my citizenship I always felt like an outsider searching for freedom. Long before I ever had a camera I always felt most at home when I was outdoors. After my motorcycle accident in 2019  I felt an undeniable call to get deeper with my storytelling around water and land protection in Florida and the people who protect these spaces.

I imagine a world where everyone feels free and all of their needs are met. I enjoy sharing the feelings of magic and connectedness that I get when I am out in nature with the world through stories and photos. I love creating images that can elicit a sense of calm to peoples nervous systems and reminders of the great beautiful wild world that can use more protection and support because our healing is connected to each other.

Im currently working on stories connected to water & land issues in Florida. Documenting the despair as well as the hope. I have a paddle board that is strong enough to carry me and all of my gear to almost anywhere I want to go.

Currently residing on the ancestral lands of the Potano of the Timucua affiliation, the Miccosukee Tribe and the Seminole tribe.
